On the southern edge of the Papagayo Peninsula, gazing over the azure waters of Culebro Bay sits the incredible Hyatt Andaz Hotel.
This is a five star resort that has it all. You can work out in the fitness centre at the Sanctuary, or relax in the Onda Spa with a luxurious treatment. Take a private lesson in the world-renowned Peter Burwash International tennis program, or play a round at the Arnold Palmer championship signature golf course. Send the kids off to the Cambi kids club and enjoy a quiet lunch at one of three Latin American themed restaurants, or have a dip in one of the cascading infinity pools.
There are beach activities and water sports, numerous pools and cabanas to enjoy, even an indigenous art space where you can gain a greater appreciation of the local culture. In addition to all of that, you can also give back to the community by helping out at a school, or getting to know a local family. Truly the best way to get into the Costa Rican “Pura Vida” (pure life) philosophy.
There are a variety of rooms to explore this resort from, standard rooms, rooms with spectacular views and luxury suites. There’s so much to do however, we find we’re out most of the day enjoying everything the Hyatt has to offer in this amazing location. So the standard rooms are just fine for us. As far as big five star resorts go, this one is hard to beat.
