Airport Pick Up and Transfer to Turrialba
Your guide will be waiting outside the arrivals terminal with a sign with your names on it. After leaving the airport, we begin the journey to our headquarters in Turrialba, about a two hour drive through orchards, small towns and beautiful coffee fields. We will have you staying in a lovely boutique hotel with a swimming pool. Our head guide will meet you for dinner to discuss the following few days.
Day 1
Duckies (inflatable kayaks)
Wake up to views of the active Turrialba volcano and enjoy a tropical breakfast listening to birdsong. After breakfast you will head out to the Pejibaye river. This is a perfect introduction to whitewater with great fun rapids without being too serious. Your head guide will give you a safety talk and instruction on how to use the equipment and then its time to get wet. This beautiful river is frequented by locals and you may even see people swimming and having a family BBQ lunch on the riverside. Overnight Villa Florencia. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 2
Part I – Whitewater Rafting.
After enjoying another great breakfast, you are outfitted for the awesome overnight rafting trip on the world famous Lower Pacuare River. Enjoy 8 miles of challenging whitewater, and participate in river side stops to hike up to secluded pools below tributary waterfalls. The rafting is a fun class II/III section of whitewater on a beautiful pristine river. Throughout the river trip there will be many opportunities for swimming or relaxing next to the river. After some great hikes and wonderful rapids, you will arrive at the remote eco-lodge. The Pacuare Eco Lodge is equipped with a full kitchen, showers, bathrooms, fully enclosed cabinas, and the best vantage point of the beautiful river and jungle. After settling in at the camp, you are free to practice in a kayak, swim, explore the jungle or just sit back in a hammock and relax. Overnight Pacuare Eco Lodge. Day 3
PART II – WHITEWATER RAFTING
Those who enjoy the early morning will especially like a morning hike through the dense rain forest surrounding the lodge. After a hearty breakfast surrounded by tropical birds it`s time to get serious about whitewater fun. Our rafting trip continues down the most challenging section of the pacuare as class iv drops seem to be around every corner. The spectacular river canyon and virgin rainforest create vertical walls of green, broken by waterfalls and hanging vines. This stretch of the lower pacuare river has been voted one of the top 10 commercially rafted rivers in the world by national geographic and will have you floating past primary rainforest, stunning waterfalls, steep canyons and fun class iii and iv rapids. You will enjoy a sumptuous river picnic along the way before reaching the “take out” point in the caribbean lowlands. From the river you will enjoy a private shuttle to the pacific coast and manuel antonio. Your guide will drive you the scenic route through the hills heading down to sea level. As you get closer to the coast, feel the temperature rise and get ready for some hot lazy days for the second part of your costa rica honeymoon. Overnight Si Como No. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 4
Tarzan Would be Jealous
Get an early start and do of one of the best zipline courses in the country. It`s a good half-day tour where you will zip along 10 cables, walk a suspension bridge, do two rappels and finish with a tarzan swing. Its a great fun tour, fully guided and is complimented by a delicious local lunch and a walk through the butterfly gardens. Overnight Si Como No. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 5
Jetski snorkel safari
There is nothing quite like zooming across the ocean in search of the perfect beach. You will have one double jet ski to take you on an exciting and breathtaking tour along the coast of Manuel Antonio. This is a fun morning seeing the coastline from the water and stopping off at some excellent snorkeling locations where you will swim with exotic tropical fish and be able to check out the abundant marine life. Day 6
Hang Ten!
Surfing lessons. After breakfast you will be met at your hotel for a morning of surfing lessons. Enjoy a private lesson with qualified surf instructors. The rest of the morning will be spent in the water. Costa rica is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches perfect for surfing and it is a fun sport to learn. Lessons with a local surf school will make sure that you learn the basics of surfing in a smooth and safe way. The surf lessons are given according to the tides and in an introductory surf lesson you will learn the basics of surfing such as standing, paddling, turning, tides as well as ocean awareness and surf ethics. Once you have finished surfing the choice of what you would like to do for the rest of the day is yours. Relax on the beach or stay by the pool at your hotel and reflect on the memories you have made on your costa rica honeymoon. Overnight Si Como No. Breakfast included.
Day 7
Time to head home…
Enjoy your last morning in the hot tropical sun before taking your private transfer to San Jose in time to join your international flight home.
