Arrival day!
Your guide will be waiting outside the arrivals terminal with a sign with your names on it. After leaving the airport, you begin the journey to the town of La Fortuna at the base of the Arenal Volcano. Resting on the hills and slopes of the valley and tucked within the lush landscape. you will find your hotel, The Tabacon Grand Spa. The four elements of nature are present in this unique Arenal Volcano luxury hotel and resort, featuring the heat of the volcano, the flowing waters of the hot springs, the pure air of the rainforest and the fertile earth of the of the Fortuna de San Carlos Region.
Day 1
Horseback Riding to the La Fortuna Waterfall
See the spectacular Arenal Volcano off in the distance and the green countryside as you travel by horseback to see the amazing La Fortuna waterfall. Ride with an experienced Costa Rican cowboy and practice your Spanish along the way. Upon arrival, hike down the 485+ stairs to the base of the thundering waterfall where you can swim, take pictures, and relax. The horses are well maintained and this is an easy going, slow ride. Overnight Tabacon. Breakfast included.
Day 2
Wildlife Safari Float
In the morning your guide will take you to the beautiful Peñas Blancas river for a wildlife safari float. You will see a plethora of exotic birds and maybe some monkeys, sloths and other wildlife. It’s a peaceful easy river trip, ideal for families and especially for photography. Your afternoon is free to relax in Tabacon’s fabulous hot springs and pools, which as a guest, you will have unlimited use of. Overnight Tabacon. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 3
Transfer day
Shuttle: Arenal to Andaz

It’s a four hour journey from the Jurassic Park landscape of the Arenal Volcano, to the beautifully blue waters of Culebro Bay where the luxurious Hyatt Andaz awaits. It’s a comfortable trip, in an air conditioned shuttle with a friendly local driver, and if you wish, you can even break the trip with a rafting trip on the Tenorio River!
Day 4
Adventure day
A day at the Diamante Adventure Park will not be forgotten quickly. In addition to the hundreds of acres to hike through, explore by horseback or ATV, there’s an animal sanctuary full of sloths, monkeys, jaguars, toucans, pumas, crocodiles and snakes, all rescued by the Costa Rican Ministry of Wildlife. There’s also world class butterfly habitat, and a botanical garden. If you want to get in the water you can go snorkelling, kayaking or take out a SUP. Our favourite, however, has got to be jumping off a volcanic ridge and flying across a deeply forested valley next to your partner, on the longest dual zip line in the country. And as it’s right on the Guanacaste coast, you get to take in a spectacular view at the same time. That takes some beating we can tell you. Overnight Hyatt Andaz. Breakfast included.

In addition to all you would expect from a five star resort, fine dining, spas & water sports, you can also give back to the community by helping out at a school, or getting to know a local family.
