Welcome to Costa Rica
Your guide will be waiting outside the arrivals terminal with a sign with your names on it. He will then drive you to your hotel in La Fortuna, Volcano Lodge and Springs. This is a beautiful property to relax in and enjoy breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano. The property boasts extensive gardens, a spa and its own hot springs. Overnight Volcano Lodge and Springs.
Ziplines and Horse Riding
This morning’s adventure will take you on 13 cables, starting off easy and increasing the adrenaline as you go along, until you get to cable #12, the longest cable at 430 meters long. There is also the thrilling (and for some, terrifying) Tarzan Swing! In the afternoon see the spectacular Arenal Volcano off in the distance and the green countryside as you travel by horseback to see waterfalls near La Fortuna. Cool off in the rushing waters near the waterfall. Ride with an experienced Costa Rican cowboy and practice your Spanish along the way. You get great views of some of the most-beautiful waterfalls near La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano. The horses are well-maintained and this is an easy-going ride. Overnight Volcano Lodge and Springs. Breakfast included.
Cerro Chato Extreme Volcano Hike
This is a tough but rewarding 4-5 hour hike through lush rainforest to the rim of the crater of the extinct volcano called Cerro Chato. Once you arrive at the crater, you then drop down to an emerald-green lagoon. If it’s clear, you’ll get great views of the majestic Arenal Volcano along the way. On the way back down you can stop at the La Fortuna Waterfall and have a swim in the fresh cool pool at the base before returning to your hotel.
This hike is only recommended for people in good shape and willing to hike in extreme conditions. Overnight Volcano Lodge and Springs. Breakfast and lunch included
Whitewater Rafting on the way to the beach
You’ll be picked up from your hotel and drive across the rustic Costa Rican back roads, through gorgeous mountains and quaint villages until you reach Tenorio. You’ll then take a scenic 4×4 ride to the river put-in at the bridge over the Tenorio River. There your guide will give you the 101 on rafting including safety tips and technical instructions before heading on your 2.5 hour journey down one of Costa Rica’s most famous rivers! You’ll witness the impressive canyon of the Tenorio River along with many different types of flora and fauna- lush greenery, vines, birds, monkeys and other types of wildlife. You’ll experience over 20 thrilling rapids, and finish the tour off with a chance to see the breathtaking Cascabel waterfall – a 10-foot drop! After the tour is over, you will have an opportunity to change your clothing, and enjoy a delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch! Finish the day driving down to the beach town of Samara, a laid-back surf town on the Pacific Coast. Overnight Hideaway Hotel. Breakfast and lunch included.
Sea Kayak and Snorkel
Samara is a stunningly beautiful place and it is not only the nature that makes it so. It is the friendly people, the mix of cultures, and the variety of activities that makes this place special. Feel the fresh ocean breeze and see stunning views of the Pacific coastline as you kayak out on the sea to Isla Chora, a small island just off of the coast of Samara. There, you will have a chance to explore underwater and be amazed at the underwater life such as tropical fish, octopus, blowfish and porcupine fish! You can then walk around the island’s beach, enjoy some fresh tropical fruit, and relax and soak up some rays before heading back to mainland. Overnight Hideaway Hotel. Breakfast included.
